Default So I'm in Cornwall, ON

I've been here since Monday wasting taxpayer money. They should call this place Cornhole, Ontario. Thankfully I go home tomorrow.

No doubt named for Lord Cornwallis. Ya know, all them Redcoats who ran away from here to live up there after the Revolutionary war.

The cover version is rarely as good as the original. Visit the real Cornwall in the UK.

I love the original Cornwall - I lived there for 18 months in 84/85. Gorgeous place, once you work out how to find your way round the summer tourists.

Maybe you can do the armpit tour and stop in Oshawa, Brampton, and Welland before heading back home...

If Cornwall is the armpit of Ontario, then I guess that makes Dryden the ...

The one thing I remember about Dryden is the smell.

LOL Dryden is definitely the rusty stink hole.

That whole stretch of the Trans Canada in northern Ontario is filled with places I never want to return to for instance ... Ignore - home of brown tap water. First stay there I thought the toilet just made flushing sounds without doing anything else.

Yeah, it smelled like I didn't shower, ran 10k, crapped my pants, then lit my underwear on fire.

My family is from Cornwall and I lived there briefly before moving to a smaller town about an hour away. I must say it is no longer the 'armpit' of Ontario as Domtar has shut down its paper mill and therefore no more of that stench (which smelled like home to be honest).

Not the greatest city (and has gone downhill since the closing of Domtar) but someplace I definitely enjoy re-visiting. hope it wasn't a complete waste of my money :P

P.S. There are many worse places in Ontario than Cornwall and Brampton...venture off the highways a little will ya? hah
