What's funny about the 5150s is tht they can do a lot more than metal, but no one gives them the chance to do it. My 5150 was great. I used G12H30s for my cab and that was a GREAT rig. Suprisingly, a lot of the time, I found myself using the crunch channel with a boost more than the lead channel towards the end of my ownership.

I got a block letter half stack about 5 or 6 years ago for $400 because the kid couldnt figure out why is wasn't as loud. He thought something in the amp broke, when it was just a broken speaker terminal in the cab. Well, I foolsihly sold the head, but I still got the cab.

Just got back from band rehersal with my new toy and
I used a charvel loaded with a JBJ TB4 and it sounded godly. very different from my plexi but has a that EVH flavor in it,like the other poster said dialed in right it does a great VH tone old or new
