    Default EVH pickup questions.

So I'm looking between the EVH Frankenstein bridge pickup and the EVH Fender Wolfgang pickup for my Floyd Rose equipped ESP. Which of these two pickups would be better for it?

Depends on what kind of ESP, what kind of wood, and what kind of music.

Both are really close but the AT-1 has the edge on the AZ as far as blindfold test

    Wolfgang set.
AIi is not great for pop punk. Not tight. Ceramic better.

I'd like to know what they are. The ones in my new Wolfgang sure don't sound ceramic.

Listen mate, please ignore all this crap about how an Alnico magnet doesn't suit this or that..
A magnet doesn't have a "sound" and this forum is getting totally out of hand in this regard.
Any maker will tell you that you can make a pickup sound any way you want, with whatever magnet you want.
Tom Anderson uses Neodynium for pete's sake !!

Your question is quite simple to answer without all the cork sniffing nonsense.
The Wolfgang is high output and the Franky is medium and brighter toned.
Choose based on that aspect.. who cares how it's made ????????

I just need more of a kick. Is the relic Frankie pup the same as the regular production one in terms of sound?

The relic version has an aged magnet, that's the biggest difference in terms of sound.
    The rest is purely cosmetic.
What's in the guitar at the moment ?

my 2cents, the relic and regular one are 100% exact same spec except the relic one is purposely aged and worn looking and the other is new looking.
other than that they are the same tone

    ED, is that correct ?
I was given to understand the Frankie wasn't simply aged cosmetically.
