Default How to take care of a baked maple fretboard?

I sometimes use fretboard conditioner or lemon oil on rosewood fretboards, but not sure if it's good for the baked maple of my Les Paul. Should it be treated like rosewood with an occasional wipe of conditioner?

Lemon Oil shouldn't be used on regular Maple Neck/Fretboard. However I watched a video

on Youtube of the dudes from Andertons doing demos of the Les Paul Classic Customs and

they used Lemon Oil on the Baked Maple Fretboard to actually darken the wood to make it

    look almost like ebony.

I saw the same video. I use the Dunlop 'lemon' oil and just like they said in that video, 'lemon' gtr oil doesnt actually have lemon juice in it. That is an awesome video by the way

Id think the best way to take care of baked maple is to spray on some PAM.

    hahahaha
Believe me when I say that some of the most amazing music in history was made on equipment that's not as good as what you own right now.

Actually, I wish my fretboard were a bit lighter. Some of the Les Paul Classic + models had real nice looking figures in the wood and actually looked kind of like Pao Ferro. Come to think of it, I really like Pao Ferro fretboards; even more than rosewood. I bet it would be fantastic fretboard wood for Gibsons. Ok, so fretboard condtioner it is. Thanks for the video.

I agree their videos are informative and hilarious....chappers really makes it IMO.

Wouldn't mind having a Pint of Ale with those cheeky Brits. I also use the

Dunlop Lemon Oil on my Fretboards as well....good stuff!!! After watching that

vid I'm GASing hardcore for a Classic Custom although in Wine Red. I did get to

take one for a spin at GC a couple weeks ago in the Natural Finish and I gotta

say I'm a fan of Baked Maple's brighter and more snappier tone quality in

comparison to rosewood and the Price Tag ain't bad either. I smell an NGD in

    the future....

If I didnt already have a LP custom, I would jump all over the classic customs. Although, i do like the 1st versions of the CC's better. The '07 ones that came in ebony, and had an aged, yellow custom binding. Those were HOT

I love the contrast and visual appeal of bright white 5 ply binding on ebony in comparison to the aged yellow, just my personal preference but still that is hot!!!

I've seen one like that where the guy put gold colored slugs in his pickups to match the other hardware. That's nice. I love Gibson guitars.
