Default I am need of some wiring help....Artie!

Here is a schematic of how my Strat is wired....one small problem...in position 4, neck and middle together, the middle pickup is on the 1st tone control and in position 2, mid and bridge together the middle pickup is on the 2nd tone control.

I would like the middle pickup to not be hooked up to any tone pot....any help would be appreciated.

Do you mean, the middle pup never connected to a tone pot, in any position?

Just to expand on that, any time you have one pup connected to another, and one of those pups is connected to a tone control, (neck and bridge, in this case), the other pup must be connected to that same tone control. There's no way to isolate the tone control from both connected pups. There are "tricks" you can do, but they don't work great.

I'll chew on those for awhile.

P.S. Its not that the middle pup is connected to a tone control. Its that the middle pup is connected to the neck or bridge, which, in turn, is connected to the tone control.

Yes....no tone control on the mid pup, if possible and a super big thanks!

I like the neck on the 1st tone pot and the bridge on the second...I don't use the middle pickup by itself.

You must have posted while I was editing.

Not possible, unless you want to eliminate the tone control completely in the #2 and #4 positions. That part would be easy.

    Which you'ld do like this.

Thanks, but this one was easy. Bill supplied most of the diagram already done. I like when they come this way.

I just wired it up and it is awesome! More cluck and quack...also I can leave the tone rolled down a bit on the bridge pup without affecting the #2 position.

I recommend this mod for folks with Strats that like quack and cluck.
