Excruciatingly Painful GAS - help...

So I get a text this afternoon from my Evil Axe Pimp's minion:

First a picture, followed by this -

"Hey Bob. This is Lexx at Sam Ash. Danny said you'd want to see the new Ace Frehley we got in. Isn't she Georgeous"

As if anyone needs friends like that. So I bolt to my local Sam Ash to find this:



It's in the glass. However, they get it out. It's just flippin' beautiful.



Obviously they don't just let everyone paw this thing. But I'm not everyone.



So I play it for a while. Buttah - Just pure buttah. Feels awesome, has the resonance. Richlite board feels great. Eventually it ends up pluged into a Blackstar. Les Paul, Super distortions (all wired up, by the way - middle/bridge sounds really good), and a Blackstar. Ahhhh. I rip through some classics. The first song ever played on this guitar - Shock Me, of course.

It's $2200 - and they are doing 18mo financing. The pain is very intense guys.

Now, I don't know if any of you have ever excperienced the smell of a brand new case fresh Les Paul. It's an amazing scent. Hypnotic, captivating, sexy, inviting. I'll never forget the smell. Christmas 1979 doesn't smell like nutmeg and cinnamon to me. It smells like new Les Paul.

I got i the car and turned the radio to go home - after an hour of looking, sniffing, discussing, playing plugged/unplugged.

help me - I'm weak. Also, see the Aceman wants to sell some coins thread in soundoff.

Get the Epiphone version, to satisfy the need for an Ace guitar. Then make your mark on something of your own.
I've never understood buying a signature guitar/pedal/amp.

There is no bonus discount system (that I'm talking about...).

And a Les Paul like that close enough to catch the scent....there could be strippers getting on all around you - you would never notice. It is NOTHING like stripper perfume. You need to go out, find a righteous LP, and catch a whiff.

One thing that bothers me about this, is that it does not have back binding. It's like one of the new LPs...I forget the model. Basically a Custom with the Richlite board and no rear binding plus chrome hardware....

But I don't know how I feel about that on an Ace model. Things like that bug me....
