When this forum talks about getting wood, we're usually thinking of flamed maple.

I reckon I might send Lizzie a bill for back rent. The old girl's family have been living in my bloody castle for the last 500 years.

When taking a DC reading from a p'up, please note the temperature, as the nominal is taken at 20°C, and there's a difference of roughly 1% every 2.5°C.
To give an example: my magical 1995 '59n J measures 7.18K at 20°C (the REAL nominal reading), 7.33K at 25°C and/or 7.47K at 30°C.
Without this info, you could say that's either a SethN, A PGn or a '59n, all depending on temperature alone.

i took that into account; it's coming into winter here, he's in canada and you're in europe, so i figured i could skip the keystrokes.

The DD P90-alikes are hotter than the SD Vintage pair but not as hot as the Hot and Custom variants.
EDIT
Approximate DC resistance meter readings;
Bridge/Treble c. 10k
Neck/Rhythm c. 8k

be sure to note the position of venus at the precise moment the 2nd prong makes contact with the wire; which in turn must be clipped, trimmed, and anointed with the blood of a screech owl in the hour of saturn.
copperhead, you after identifiers or some basic info?
EDIT - ^ must be pretty hot in england right about now...

Dr. Ad. I made certain to dip the meter probes in sacrificial goat's blood at precisely midnight, whilst blindfolded, with one trouser leg rolled up to the knee and my left nipple exposed.
My meter readings are, therefore, as precisely approximate as I can possibly make them.![]()

yes, that's an acceptable method too.
and the ceremonial smearing of excrement?

Thanks .........I will take what I can get .
Winding pickups in the summer for customers that requested custom winds at a specific dcr is a pain in the ass ,the dcr is all over the place

^ ok well when i had the pair together, i made a point of metering them in the winter and the summer, humid and dry, etc; i remember the DCR not being too far apart ie 1 around 9K and one always over 10K. i wasn't doing anything specific, i just liked them and was trying to nut out the construction ie 42 or 43.
from the sound of them (excellent P90s for dirt, not super-detailed) i'd guess they're wound both pretty tight and used AWG43 on the bridge; but in these matters i am probably the least experienced poster in this thread.
what do you reckon: as much 43 as you can neatly fit, and call it a night? heh heh
obviously i am not in business myself.

one other thing; the bare wire in the cable attaches to the baseplates by a little circular electrical terminal, so metering this with the bare wire still attached to one of the conductors would in theory add to the DCR and fck these readings.

I think the cheaper Asian-made P-90's usually sound better their HB's, less to go wrong. I wouldn't pay a lot for a set of DD P-90's, as you can get a higher quality used P-90 set for a good price.
Some of us like to swap mags in bridge P-90's to beef them up a bit, like an A8/A4 or A8/A5 pair which adds output and mids. If you EQ your amp to a bridge P-90 with twin A5's, the neck may be pretty dark.
