    Default Is their anything preparation wise that I should do?

    Before I swap the pole screws and slugs on the 59/custom hybrid? (or any humbucker for that matter?)

    Maybe he doesn't mean swapping the two coils with each other, but going from silver to gold, like I did with my Explorer's slugs and screws:



    If he did mean swapping the two coils, the same thing could be achieved by just flipping the pickup around, like Peter Green did with his neck pickup.

    I am replacing the slugs and screws with hex crews.

    You're installing hex screws in both coils?

    The bobbin holes on the slug side are larger than the screw coil. The slug coil is also not tapped. If you have standard 5-40 screws then they will not fit the stock slug bobbin.

    What sized threads are your hex screws?
