    Default I need some help

I've got a pair of old (85) Carvin pups with 3 wires and a shield coming out of them. I'm replacing them with 4 conductor Duncan pups. The wire colors of the Carvin pups are Black, Red, White, and shield. I believe the red is hot, and black & sheild are ground. What is the white, compared to Duncan pups? Is the white, the combination of the Duncan red & white?

If red is hot and black is ground then yes, the white wire takes the place of the red/white together on a Duncan.

Thanx KI. That's what I thought. I have the original wiring diagram used with these pups, and it is different than Duncans, for splitting & phasing. But now that I know what I'm dealing with, I think I can transpose for the split & phase switches.

No prob, should be pretty straight forward, just put the red/white together where the white was before.
