Hello,
If you have a hardcase for your axe do you want to keep it on your stand, or in the case when your not playing it?
Thanks all

Keep it in the case and take the tension off of the strings.

I keep mine on the wall

The best place for a guitar is always in its case. If you're storing it for a long period of time (more than a month or two), loosen the strings.

Mine are all on the wall or on stands. They all get played at one time or another.

Have more guitars than room to let them lay out.
Some I leave out of a stand, some stay mostly in their cases.
So, if I think about about storing - long term which means years or a decade ot two, they stay flat and in the case. Every once in awhile, I open the case for a day or two and some fresh air in and take it out an play awhile.
Keep 'em out of the sunlight and away from heating ventilation ducts
Oil the fingerboards once in awhile.
Take tension off the neck.
Humidity causes the neck to warp/unwarp - very slightly in a normal environment [here in the South]
Aint hard or too much to do but this simple stuf will protect your investment.
This simple stuff has protected the neck on my 60's Epiphone Casino.
Others will be able to write a book about this.

Right on, Thanks guys

My favorite stands are Hamiltons:
I always keep slanted headstock guitars and acoustics in their cases or at least on my Hamilton stands. (I don't really like any other stands.) Fenders, who cares. They are less fragile (and they look fine beat up anyhow, if anything should happen).

Having been through a couple of big earthquakes, I keep mine in cases.

When you've had budget guitars for a number of years, you may find that your old instrument is holding you back. A quality guitar can inspire you to write great songs, improve your understanding of the Gdim chord while in the Lydian Mode, cure the heartbreak of cystic acne--and help you find true love in the process.
I keep some in cases either under the bed or in a cupboard. But I keep three on stands around the house - in different tunings - so I can pick them up whenever I feel like it.

in case, tuned. don't get the release tension thing - that's what a truss rod is for, no? always heard the worst would be no tension, then the truss rod is the only force, bending it backwards (unless you loosen the truss rod). if you played it every day and kept it in tune, a neck would have contant string tension, how is it sitting there like that for months on end any different?
mine are currently all on a moving truck. kinda sucks because it's hot, but they're in cases, then most are further in cardboard boxes with crumpled paper, peanuts, etc., then packed in groups of 3-4 in wardrobe boxes. after about a week, they will be in a climate-controlled warehouse for a month or two. They've been through it before, no harm done. I couldn't feasibly ship 10 guitars, and they'd be on a truck/in transit anyway for at least 3-4 days even if I did ship. Can't get around it. None are real "prizes" though, just players.
