NPD...and it's green!

First time to actually own a tubescreamer. I feel like a guy who's been living under a rock. I've owned quite a few overdrive pedals and I've tried a few TS pedals (Ibanez TS808 and Maxon OD808) but I haven't really owned one. Anyways, here it is. It's a Maxon OD9 and I like how it does not have as much mid range honk as the OD808. It's a perfect pair for my Tele. Lastly, it sounds great for boosting my Blackstar amp.

Yup. That is true. Can't remember when that stopped but without looking it up, I want to say OT was in the early to mid 2000's.

the od-9 is good. Very sweet sounding overdrive. I used one for many years too and always enjoyed it.

Whats the diff tween the OD9 and the Od808?

I felt that the OD808 sounded a bit stiff. The smoother and reminded me of the Barber LTD V2.

Nice! I had a Keeley modded Ibanez TS-9 a while back and it kicked ass. I can't imagine this guy being any worse. Congrats.

Awesome pedal and congratulations. Don't get it modded! I tried Analogman and Keeley mods on those before and ended up selling both pedals.

No plans of having this modded. I already like what this pedal gives.


I'm planning my board again, and I'm thinking of either getting a Suhr Riot pedal or just wait for that new Barber pedal in the works, then an MXR Carbon Copy.

Then again, the OD pedal I have is not a tubescreamer...

It's a dilemma.
