    Default Ibanez Pat Metheny Hollowbody???

I am thinking of buying one of these in the near future and was wondering if anyone has any experiance with these. It will set me back a good chunk of cash so, I am wondering does this guitar live up to the hype? Does it sound like a 3100 dollar guitar? Playability? Any input would be appreciated.

Ibanez does not cut corners on high end gear. You'll be fine.

Ive not tried the PM model, its anywhere near as good as the Ibanez george benson or John Scofield models ive played, id be guessing it would put my gibson 175 to shame - and i love that guitar a lot!

    I'm not sure if it's $ 3,100.00 good, but it's a really good instrument.

Are there no second-hand ones in your neck of woods?

Not likely. I am gonna do some looking around though to see if I can find one used.

I remember Scott Henderson saying that what Ibanez gave their endorsees was way better from what showed up in stores as signature models,
and that was one reason why he switched to Suhr.

Just sayin'. Henderson says Ibanez does cut corners in high-end models.
I did read that in a magazine around 10 years ago though... things might have changed.

*shrug* I've played a George Benson, and a Steve Lukather Signature (the oooold Roadstar signature one), and they were without reservation very fine instruments.

Ibanez's big reputation may be in the shredsticks, but the rest of their catalog is worth looking over as well.

That being said, I wouldn't buy anything more than $300 without laying hands on it first.

I wonder what Pat gets out of these? He normally plays/records with Linda Manzers guitars

Probably similar to Joe Pass who had deals with Ibanez and Epiphone but mainly played his ES-175 and D'aquisto.

I have never heard that. I know he at least uses his Ibanez models live many times. I do think I wish to try one before I part with that kind of cash.
