    Default Black Pickup Covers

I want to install pickup covers on my Pearly Gates to take just a bit of edge off the pick attack. Black would work the best on my guitar, I burn through gold plating in about 6 weeks. The rest of the hardware is gold, so nickel or chrome isn't really an option.

All of the black covers I found on the internet have the same part number PC-0300-003. I cannot tell much about the finish from the pictures on the internet.

If anyone has used these, I have a couple of questions:

    Is the finish very durable???

    Are they shiny or matte???

    Thanks....

    welcome to the forum!

the ones that ive had have been shiny and not all that durable. much better than gold but the black still comes off if your pick hits it a lot and/or you have corrosive sweat.

Thanks for the reply. I've been searching around more and found black covers on Dimarzio's site. These look like painted pot metal and scream CHEAP!!! I found some that appear to be black chrome on Ebay UK:

Does anyone know where there is a source for these CONUS???
