If you wanna complain about Android, ***** about them rolling out too-little-too-late all of the time with not enough testing in-between.

Jokingly, I pick at my brother in law constantly that Google is a part of the NWO and the antichrist. Google has six letters, G is the 6th letter of the alphabet all the freaking time. I don't like them being in bed with the NSA or do I like them tracking my crap for profit.

Both are the devil. Regardless of what tardbuckety crap they do/have. You have to pick one if you want a smartphone.

I seriously don't like them both as a company ignoring the silliness above and in previous posts. Both companies have their pros and cons and I see pluses for both companies.

I don't like my power company but I pay it on time every month.

Actually, my wife has a Samsung Galaxy that seems to last for a few days without really NEEDING charged.
I have the older Galaxy version and it needs charged at least once a day, overnight! POS!

Well yeah if you put it in your sock drawer untouched it will last for days. As soon as it rings though lookout, you have about 90 seconds before it dies and shuts off!

If I don't use my phone for forum use or web surfing, I can go a coupe of days per charge.

No, it does not last as long as my Nokia flip phone. Yet it does SO much more.

I have a Samsung Replenish, I abuse it very very bad. I overheat it on a daily basis, I've cooked 2 batteries, working on the third, it hits the ground on a daily basis, I've burned the screen, it's got a patch of mold under the screen. I love this thing!

Can of worms. Let's cherry pick a few things.

I switched from an iPhone 3 (or 3s?) to first some HTC piece of **** and then to Samsung's Galaxy nexus.

Thoughts in random order:

• Apple is working on their own map product (which is already ridiculed on the net this week for bad detail and driving people off freeway overpasses). Fine, but Apple has decided not to release and/or approve updates to it's Google maps app. For me this is a major issue and the main reason for the switch to Android. Maps and related things are my personal killer app on a smartphone.
• Battery life sucks everywhere, but hey in the Androids I can change the battery. I have 4 batteries total, that gets me somewhere.
• In many Android phone you can exchange the micro SD card used for app data storage.
• The music players on Android do what you want, they play the music you own with the playlists your programs come up with. A non-rooted iPhone is pretty much iTunes territory.
• Many Android phone has a very serious issue with the ring tone maximum volume not being enough, and some also have too wimpy vibration. The iPhone is slightly better due to it's much superior stereo speakers. It's not that the iPhone is great (still misses an old-style specialized ringer device). This pisses me off no end.
• In exchange for the worse speakers phone like the Galaxy Nexus give you a great screen.
• Android phone with regular USB connection will generally only hold battery charge, but not increase charge, when using them as GPSes with the LCD screen on and on a car charger. I think iPhone can suck much more juice out of their Apple plug, but on the other hand in an Android phone you can exchange the battery. And you can charge batteries out of the phone.
• Android has some nice features like icon making with "commandline parameters", it is a breeze to have many icons for the navigation app with different destinations.
• In case this isn't clear, Google navigation is top of the line turn-by-turn directions with GPS and location by cellphone signal (useful in Boston or NYC where skyscrapers block the GPS signal).

You really need to get in the menu & shut off everything that you don't use, if I have a lot of programs running mine lasts about 3 or 4 hours. If not, I can get 2 days oit of a charge.


There's a huge difference in chargers that are available, spend a few bucks & get a good one, it makes all the difference in the world

Excuse me, this is my WIFE's phone we're talking about. Have you ever met a woman? They like to talk on the phone. My wife likes to talk on the phone for feckin HOURS, literally!!!!

Whereas me, I like to talk on the phone not at all. Yet her phone lasts for a couple of days on one charge, and mine needs charged every night, or even sooner.

Yea so does my girlfriend and her Samsung whatever lasts no time at all. By the time she leaves work she needs to charge it as it is about to die. It's a piece of garbage. My dads Samsung something doesn't last long at all either. Your wife must have found the Great White Buffalo of phones.
