Default wiring diagram for Ibanex SX720FM

I want to install a Hotrodded Humbucker set in my Ibanez SZ720FM. It currently has the stock wiring set-up,where the middle toggle position splits the coils. I want to wire it in a standard configuration. Any ideas,as this is only the second time I have attempted to install pick-ups? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated

Hey BBR, welcome to the forum. Can you say what year your Ibby is? The only reason I ask is because Ibanez has a messed up diagram search technique.

    Is this it?

Your thread title threw me off. It says SX720FM.

I think that is right Artie. I remember having a similar Q with my SA120. I let me post a link to that. What colour codes do the stock wires have. They should be similar to Dimarzios. One wire may be Blue. The JB JAZZ set sounds very very nice split together a very useful tone. I prefer that tone to the JB JAZZ together. MY SA120 is wired 1 Neck standard Humbuking, 2 neck Parallel, 3 Bridge and neck Standard Humbucking, 4 Neck and bridge split and 5 Brdige Full Humbucking.

here you go this is a 5 way switch though . I suggest keeping them split. If You dont like it then. you could try the other way.

The standard Ibanez selector switch achieves the automatic coil splits by connecting to ground via the second set of six "DPDT" contacts. To defeat the auto-split, simply introduce a second SPDT switch to interrupt the link to ground.

To get really fancy, introduce a linear taper pot to govern the proportion of the second coil left in circuit. The SD Tech Tips webpages call this Spin-A-Split.

Thanks for the info. I may just have a guitar tech do it as my knowledge of switch wiring is very limited.

Here's the "Seymourized" version of that diagram, but what Frank said is true also. (Albeit, with the new Duncan colors.)
