Default Seymour Duncan P90 Antiquity x Lollar P90 50's wind

    Hi!

I am planning to put one of these in my R6, which one do you recommend? Has anyone tried one of these pickups?

    Thanks!

I have tried SD Ants and Lindy Fralin 5% overwound P-90s in the same guitar. I also own a bone stock Gibson LP Std P90 Goldtop Limited Edition model. I have yet to test Lollar.

I find the Ants fruitier than the stock Gibson units. For what I do, this is a good thing. My favourites, however, are the Fralins. These made my PRS SE Soapbar single cutaway guitar give my two P90 Gibsons a very good run for their money. Some times, a particular pickup just gels with the host guitar. The only thing that I might want to change is the bridge PU to a 10% overwound.

blueman335 likes to grumble about the A2 Magnets in the SD Antiquity P90. IMO, the maple cap on your LP will balance the tone out nicely.

I am no fan of Lollar pickups so if thos are my only 2 choices I'd say Duncans w/o question but if you want an honest opinion I'd leave the stock pickups in there!

Gibson P-90's sound great and since the guitar is a Historic/VOS it has the correct pot values...I see no need in changing anything on an R4 or R6.
