I think the SDX isn't made in China, but rather, in India. Remember the other X Series models are being made in India.

I think my Christmas present will be one of those Smiths if I can find one and it passes the boob test. A sweet looking San Dimas for $499? Hit it like ya mean it.

smiths made in china now? (version of I mean?)

TC, go for it! I was playing my Charvel today and was just loving the amount of vibe that axe has.. IMO those guitars need a floyd, but thats just my psyche talking there. I have a big block on mine and it sings like mad.. But the guitar just does it.. plays like the shizz and has vibe.. I need another!!!!
Believe me when I say that some of the most amazing music in history was made on equipment that's not as good as what you own right now.

I could go for a SoCal in white if I could find one used. All I see are red, blue, and black. That way if I really don't like the Floyd it would be easier to flip than something like a custom spec Warmoth. Besides, the Warmoth stuff takes like 10 weeks to order up with paint and all, my GAS doesn't allow for that, LOL.

Well, nobody's sure yet, a lot of people are saying the new basswood Smiths are going to be MIC, but if you check Jackson doesn't seem to make low enders in China, they make them in India. So my guess is India.

Id rather buy the charvel, get the hard case, Japanese quality, orig floyd and brand pickups..(even tho Id prefer it came with Duncans)

Agreed. I do like the primer gray Wild Card #7 quite a bit, but the yellow fret markers and logo are turning me off.

You might not care for it being relic'd.
