I have to admit, this sounds highly racist. I'm offended and I'm not even Black. You shouldn't have used "Black" and "finally" in the same sentence. I'll rephrase it for you:

Much better! I even corrected all your misspelling too! You're welcome!

Ya know, if I didn't have to be at work and do other things, I'd probably drive down to So Central, TX and smack you upside the head, Jerry. Just stop, please.

Ya know, I really wish I could figure out why I find Jerry's obvious troll threads to be entertaining. Usually, I don't have much patience for trolls, but I like Jerry.

    This thread made me lol.

/thread. It doesn't get much more rock-n-roll than that in my book.

I didn't think he was representing anyone other than himself, as I'm also a metal fan. If that's his name to be ironic, the irony is lost with a thread like this, however, being that ES-335's are not typically associated with metal music.

Well, that's not really "alcohol." That's more like "lighter fluid."

You know, I was worried about this, but I run my 335 through a Bogner Uberschall, and I've not noticed any real problems. It is easier to get feedback out of it than my solid bodies, but not annoyingly so. It's more of a "its there when you want it" situation, rather than "I constantly have to fight to control it."

I think the Les Paul is the most overrated guitar of all time. It's a great guitar, but I think the Strat did more for Rock and Roll and Heavy Metal than the Les Paul ever did.

It's sad that it's getting harder to figure out if MM is trolling, or if he actually believes the mindless, pointless **** he posts on here.

Rule of thumb : do the opposite of what's posted in such threads. It'll work out for you. Seriously, do the exact opposite.

I clicked on this expecting to see "PRS" or something, not 335.

    Plywood?

I'd ask WTF is wrong with you, but I stopped concerning myself a while back.

    That's a 355 ... Personally I prefer the looks if the ES-345 myself.

But yes the 335 is a f-ing musical glory maker.

Ya got to admit, if someone gave you that 335 in the pic, you're first thought would probably be "I need a lighter and some lighter fluid, this thing must be burnt to ashes !"

As a player, one needn't worry oneself too much about whether it has anything to offer : if you see it, burn it. Quick and easy. I appreciate the OP pointing this out, as many players out there aren't aware of this issue and it needs to be broadly known.

What they don't know is the 335 is a Plywood guitar, thats right, PLYWOOD!
On top of that, its a cheap glued top.
I really hate to say this, cause I know so much more about Gibsons than you'll ever know, but there are models not that much more expensive that are one solid piece of carved mahogany...in fact, the whole great guitar is one solid piece of wood, and the semi hollow chambers are carved out of that solid block!
I hate to say that cause now some heretofore clueless self important boneheads with money here will now go researching and looking for these guitars that I am trying to find, but ah well, all in the name of progress.
Basically its like people arguing that silverface Fender is a good amp.
    No it sin't.

Great minds always face criticism from mediocre minds, like I always do here, so flame away again! I'm sitting pretty knowing I'm right..I'm ALWAYS right!
Nice attempt at a troll. Seriously, a solid 9 out of 10.

Now, go back into the dark parts of your little house, and play your goofy little partscasters to yourself, and tell yourself that you know more about tone than those of us who regularly play for other people.

I know it's a 355. But if someone is saying "335" to refer to a type of guitar that has a certain set of basic features (maple block, plywood body), as is being done in the OP, the 345's and 355's are included. All they are are higher trim levels of the 335. Chuck Berry used all three models at various times. ("One per year; tax deductible." )

That said, 1) Berry's greatness had absolutely nothing to do with which guitar he played, and 2) he has sucked for nearly 50 years anyhow. I just thought it was a badass photo of the King of Rock-n-Roll playing a Gibson thinline semi-hollow.

Trying to remember what he used back in the 50s ... ES-350D or a ES-5? Probably both.

Blasphemy!!! Strats have to be the most overrated guitar ever, except in the few genres where they habitually overdose on treble, like country, surf, and polka.

Heavy rock and roll started in the late 1960's with LP's and Marshalls, baby.
