    Default Loverboy.....? the struggle

I have always kind of liked SOME Loverboy.....
Not all the cheesy ghey happy stuff at all, but a few songs I really like....

Does this make me less of a manly man?

Cuz if it does... I'm calling chuck norris and we're taking my loverboy tapes out and shooting them with some seriously large caliber weapons and burying the shattered fragments into the skull of some mangy dead animal carcasses and pissing on them after we light them on fire... Then we'll do some shots.... and sharpen some knives and reload some incendiery rounds.... and kill anyone who knows about it.... cuz I don't do "less manly crap!"

Enjoy whatever music makes you happy, as long as it doesn't poop on someone else's feelings.

I'm convinced loverboy was a thrash band trapped in an 80s radio band's body. I have no choice but to bang my head when I hear them.

They and Heart were a nice springboard into harder stuff out at the time.

The singer tried to pick up my cousin at a hotel one time. When he told her who he was, she said, "Really? I never heard of you."

She looked into their music later and became a fan.

No, she did not hook up with him.

Paul Dean was/is a very, very good guitar player. The band, to me seemed to be built around his playing and Mike Reno's voice. Songs like "Turn Me Loose" had great tone. Yes, the content may have been silly, but at the time, it didn't seem that way. They set an attendance record in Lincoln when they played there in 1982, or around the time the "Get Lucky" album was released.

Bottom line is, like whomever you want. I hold exception to some of the modern acts such as Lady Gaga or Justin Bieber, but the fact is that we can learn something from everyone. Even if that is about what NOT to do.

I prefer them compared to the crap that's out there today. I always liked Paul Dean's guitar tone.

Never was much of a Loverboy fan but I saw them years back open for Cheap Trick and they really were excellent live.

Paul Dean had a pretty cool band in Canada called Streetheart too so that sort of saves them.
