    Default NAD Fender Mustang II

I was looking for a different amp to use at some small picnic/family events that I play in the summers. I find them fun, and great practice as well. I am mostly an instrumental track for folks who want to have some sort of "live" music in these cases. I have a series of accompaniment track and use those to work up some leads over. I have used my regular amps (5e3, Bassman LTD, etc) with a PA for these in the past. It is just too much stuff though for the smaller of these sorts of things.

I picked up a Mustang II with the line in for a discounted price as it was a floor model. I have not really done a lot with it, but I did program some presets. I find it works pretty well in this context. It is not my 5e3 etc. but it does what I wanted here. I recorded a clip over a backing track for it.

Yes, I make those faces. No, I do not know why. Yes, I know there are clinkers in it. Yes, I know others (perhaps most) play better.

thanks for the demo and I'm glad you are liking it so far.

Fender hit a homerun imho with the mustang series.

Yes, it is working better than I had expected. I have not used digital much in the last few years, and this worked pretty well. I might need to pull the compressor off that patch but otherwise...

well the great thing is when you plug in and use Fuse it's incredibly easy to tweak and it's easy to get carried away. On the mustang I and II you can upload sounds that are very useful that don't come stock (12 string simulator, princeton, 70s brit, etc).

I don't really have a "practice" amp right now so I'm trying to decide what I want to get for low volume stuff that new Super Champ X2 looks cool but I'll have to try one in person to make sure I like the low volume tones.

    I like.

My mustang I is my most valuable practice tool, and somehow it sounds fantastic for everyday jamming. My DRRI sounds good at home, but it doesn't sound GREAT like when I get to bring it out of the house. The mustang I does a way cool Champ impression and that's what I use most on it.

It seems to work well for me. If I need a smaller rig that is portable I use my Micro Spider. It is OK. The M2 is has a great number of advantages over it. I do not, however, like the headphone emulation much so far. I have not tried developing any patches specific for that application.
