theres another recent thread floating around with this, its impressive as all hell

Every love that made me lose my reasoning. Every chord that made my conscience ache. Every day spent counting hours. Well, none of them comes close to singing back a song inside my head.
I remember calloused hands and paint-stained jeans, and I remember safe-as-houses self-belief.
Who cares if it was posted before. That's so impressive it should have a new thread every week.

That was amazing. I couldn't tear myself away from it even after I realized it was a little monotonous and he began to sing. It just got better!
I wonder if he spends time scratching up brand new guitars before he plays them so they can get all the sounds he needs.

I bet Guitar Center loves it when he comes in! "No sir, you are not aloud to play the Martins. Go beat on that daisy rock."
It is pretty amazing though. I like how he uses the tuning keys to "bend" up notes. I'll never have the pitch to do that.
Gear: More junk than I know what to do with

*dons tin foil hat*

This thread reminds me of how much Michael Hedges did for the acoustic, too.

I searched the guy's name and found only a thread from 2005 so that was why I posted. Always helps to put the player's name in the thread.

Did you see the link in Post 1?

He's replaced some of the tuning keys with banjo tuning pegs, complete with D-tuners. They're thumbscrew-adjustable upper and lower 'stops' that allow quick tuning between keys on a 5-string banjo. I'm not trying to take aything away from the dude, because he's obviously an incredibly talented player, but that's how he was able to get that effect with such consistency. A good sense of pitch would be necessary to play like that, but he wasn't doing it completely by ear.
I love Kaki. She's one of my favourite players.
