    Yeah, but if you search for Gomm in this forum you'll still only see the 2005 thread.

    I did. First line. It is his web address. www.jongomm.com BTW, that was no slam on you. I'm not in to that in Life. Carry on.

    Definitely in the same vein as Michael Hedges. He was amazing to see live.

A good sense of pitch would be necessary to play like that, but he wasn't doing it completely by ear. I love Kaki. She's one of my favourite players.
    Adrian Legg has been doing the banjo tuner thing for years. I like Kaki, but she is always so pissed off looking when she plays.

    . Yeah Kaki's great, though I don't get how she can play with such griffin talons.

    Should've gone to see Gomm when he was down here recently . I think it's impressive that he's able to sing while playing complicated stuff as he does.

    Preston Reed and Eric Roche also do the percussive stuff really well.
    For him who struck thy foreign string,
    I ween this heart hath ceased to care;
    Then why dost thou such feelings bring
    To my sad spirit - old Guitar?

    Even so, Guitar, thy magic tone
    Hath moved the tear and waked the sigh;
    Hath bid the ancient torrent moan
    Although its very source is dry.

    Master? Thats a pretty bizzare style. He's master of that I guess.
    I didn't actually like it in the least. Count me as a dissenting voice.
    I couldnt buy into the -psycho-Acoustic representations of hand percussion he was trying ot simulate by thumping/scratching on the guitar.
    Not only that, but that amplifiede guitar sound was abyssmal compared tio the gorgeous Martins/Gibsons of Nashville recorded and played by old skool master crafstmen I know and love.
    Just my personal opinion. You are free to disagree as you see fit.
    Personally, i couldnt listen to 5 seconds of this overly processed, sloppily executed lead run chickenscratch.

    The tone was crap, certainly not a nice acoustic sound at all. I agree with that. I love percussion though... I cannot get enough of music styles heavy on the percussion... must connect with me on a primal level.

    Skill wise though... I liken what he did with something that takes a lot of practice but ultimately can be done by anyone who dedicates enough time to getting the movements crisp... like competitive cup-stacking.

    It is pretty amazing though. I like how he uses the tuning keys to "bend" up notes. I'll never have the pitch to do that.
    Neither does he

    anything you can't do on a Les Paul is because you haven't practiced enough or you don't rock hard enough.

    I love this sort of music so much. It's the antithesis to the bullshiz stuff that gets pumped out of any store's radio, all of the singer contest shows, and just about any major music outlet. Great stuff.
