Default Waiting for the local guitar shops to open... (potential NGD!)

    So, what should I buy?

    1) New tubes (either EL34 or 6550) for my Tweaker, a fuzz pedal and a Duncan?
    2) A new guitar that I've been jonesing madly for the last couple months?

    You be the judge!

And I took the least bombastic, but IMO more useful choice:

Bought a pair of JJ E34L tubes for my Tweaker and a Alnico II Pro neck pup.
Didn't find any fuzz pedal I cared about.
So now I have a A2P/Demon pairing. And I've got a few magnets around to toy with...

The JJs will replace the stock EHX 6V6 tubes. They sound amazing but a bit too loose when pushed.
it should be much better now!

    Good stuff.

good info! was wondering how the tweaker sounds with diff tubes..?? still stock in mine.
Believe me when I say that some of the most amazing music in history was made on equipment that's not as good as what you own right now.

Diego, if you do not have a P-90 axe, you made the wrong choice. Everyone needs a guitar with P-90's.

Haha, I tried the guitar again and I really liked it but it comes in a very uninspiring matte black finish, nowhere as nice as the one pictured.

Also, my amp still needs new tubes (broke one of the JJs when installing...) and I could use a better cab. Gotta fix that first.

Also, the PRS SE 245 is a bit more expensive but a much better guitar side by side. P90 goodness!
And it has 4 knobs, the way it should be! I'd hate going back to just one volume.
So I'd rather save a bit more.

Already got a Tungsol there, my friend.

I want to change the way it behaves when it's real loud, when it's past 7 on the master. By then the sound becomes more Aerosmith or AC/DC than anything else.

I'd like to increase the headroom and make the mids less creamy at that point.

Make no mistake guys, it sounds AWESOME in stock form, I'd just like some variety, so why not make it bigger, cleaner and louder? Sort of a vintage/modern choice.
