Default JB any good in Swamp Ash

i have a guitar with a swamp ash body and maple neck. i need the guitar to be very versatile (srv, paul gilbert, pink floyd, metallica, jeff beck, van halen etc.....). now i know the guitar won't be able to reproduce those tones as well as the originals but i'm hoping to get a good enough to sound halfway decent.
would a JB in the bridge be a good choice? also i need a single coil neck pup to go in this guitar as well. i was thinking about putting a LiL 59 in the neck.
so would a JB in the bridge and LiL 59 in the neck be a good combo for what i'm looking for?
the bridge pup will also be set up for a coil split.

    thanks for any replies

I think that'd work well but really it'll depend on how the actual piece of wood, said pickups, and said player interact with your amp/fx.

SD offers an exchange policy if you don't like the pickups switch em for something else.

I'd try a JB or a Custom Custom in the bridge... reckon either of them should sound nice in ash & maple. never tried a Lil 59, but a big 59 should mate nice in the neck with either, so it's worth a try.

JB would probably be great in swamp ash. The tight bottom, scooped mids, and bright treble would probably compliment the JB well. If you want to spend a little more, the BKP VHII works extremely well in swamp ash. The output and treble clarity will compliment SCs very well, so you can put some true single coils in the middle and neck to make it even more versatile.

JB will be awesome. CC would be a good backup.

^That looks absolutely incredible. Like seriously, I found a new dream guitar. Maybe switch the neck pup for an A4 antiquity. And those Zephyrs!

It's as good in swamp ash as in any other wood. In fact, it will resonate with more low frequencies add some top end sizzle and dampen some of the midrange. In effect, it would somewhat be like a Pearly Gates in alder.

    I have a JB in a swamp ash/maple strat and it's great.

Frank, what's the fingerboard radius on that limited edition guitar?

guys that guitar is real I actually got a chance to play one in person, too bad I couldn't afford it, perhaps I'll build something similar for myself.

Does anyone know if I could do 4 conductor wiring on the Antiquity JB/Jazz set?
