I bought a duncan used and the back is black and the sticker says
SH-PG-1B BBP
it has a resistance of 8.3K? what did i get?

mine looks a little different the back is black not silver like that picture?
is does have seymour duncan made in america engraved on it so i guess it is not a fake?

idk judging by the reading and model number you gave me I'd have to say that's what it is. Maybe someone else can chime in, I've never seen a black bottomed PG either, maybe it was a shop floor custom of some sort?

As for the black back, it was probably an OEM of some sort.

to be honest you are probably fine I'd still guess it's a Pearly Gates based on the output. Let us know what it sounds like and we'll probably be able to verify it's true identity.

It is a Pearly Gates Plus, OEM in some Fender guitars. It's an Alnico 5 Pearly Gates with a slightly higher DC Resistance.

Is it white and did it come out of a Fender? If so, it might be a Pearly Gates Plus.
