Default Having some trouble with Audacity

ok, long story short, My drummer and I are recording a new song for our band and Audacity is acting all screwy. We decided to import the drum tracks from Fruity Loops because they would sound a ton better than the we normally record drums and also instead of using a mic to record my guitar parts I'm using that Ipod app, Ampkit, with an aux cable running from the headphone jack of the hardware for Ampkit to the computers mic jack. It sounds really good but the only problem is that when we went to record the rest of the guitar parts today, the recording was picking up anything that was being played on the computer. So the playback from audacity was being recorded along with the guitar track. So pretty much everything was getting doubled up and everything was terrible.

Can anyone please help us out? I would really like to get this recording done.

    Thanks.

You probably turned on "recording from pcm" in the soundcard's mixer.

    What OS?

You have it on "stereo mix" instead of line in. Go into Sound in control panel and recording devices and make sure that's set to line in. Or select it on your soundcard's audio client if it has one.

Were still having the trouble with it. Anyone have any other ideas of what to do? The Mic setup is on Line-in.

On the recording source, the only option is line-in.

In the hardware/driver/mixer? That's hard to believe.

Plug the guitar in the line-in of the computer, download and use Asio4All instead of Direct x, and play through Amplitube 3 free. SIMPLE AS ****.

Also, don't be a madman using audacity, be a simple kind of man and use Reaper. For the win!
