sorry to be boring, but A5

Depends on the wind and the guitar....I don't really have a favorite magnet persay....

this really depends on the guitar and the pickup
are we talking tele, strat, jag, jazzmaster, low wind paf, vintage (moderate) paf, p90, dynasonic, filtertron, etc.
I guess overall I prefer AlNiCo in both speakers and pickups because of the way it sounds. I find that AlNiCo usually has more of a vintagey quality to it. The grade of AlNiCo varies again depending on the application. If I had to generically respond I'd say AlNiCo 5.

A2 most of the time, then ceramic.

I'm really a "whatever works best with the guitar" kinda guy when it comes to magnets. I adore A2s, but I've been enjoying my stock Custom a lot lately. I will say that I don't at all care for the A8.

I like A4 in PAF-style humbuckers.
My hair gets longer as the beat gets stronger

Didn't we just do this?
UOA5.
Everything else depends on the wind.

I have about 10 kinds of alnicos in my HB's and P-90's, no ceramics. I had some ceramic PU's, but I replaced the mags out and use them to hold things on the refrigerator.
"Completely Conceded Glowing Expert."
I like the alinco 8 for the thickness and crunch and also a double thick ceramic would my second choice! I play metal and usually what I've like is alinco 8 and the double thick ceramic
All my favorite humbuckers have A5.
I like both, I have alnico magnet pickups and ceramic magnet pickups--both SD and non-SD
It would be boring if I could only have one or the other.
Ceramic then A8 followed by A5 for metal.
A2 for classic rock, blues, and jazz.
Alnico, and what type depends on what pickup/guitar. I tend to gravitate toward AV and AII.

Double thick, or regular Ceramic.
After hearing the duncan distortion i was sold that ceramic>any of the alnicos for metal.
Try a double thick ceramic in a sh-5 its awesome!!

A2 all the way !
