Just curious. I know in home/car audio, there's an added benefit of mixing different cone sizes. If you have, what speaker combos did you use? I don't know if this is something I'm going to try out or not. Just a random thought.

Gear: More junk than I know what to do with

Gibson made a combo that had a 12" and 10" speakers in it. IIRC Trace Eliot had designed them.

The Mesa cab that you can just barely see in my avatar is a open back version of their bass power house cabs that they made for guitar. It has 1x12 and 4x8 inch speakers in it. Its one of my favorite cabs by far. Most guys will cringe at the idea of 8 inch speakers for guitar but they sound really good. I think the biggest thing would be just making sure to get speakers that are pretty close to the same sensitivity so you dont wind up over powering one.
"It keeps you fit - the alcohol, nasty women, sweat on stage, bad food - it's all very good for you." -Bon Scott
"Let me put it this way: the 5150 will treat
you better than any girlfriend, because it screams louder, it's easier to pick up, and it shuts up when you take your plug out." -Rip Glitter

I had Peavey PA towers that I used to like using for guitar. They were vertical cabs, and each one had two 12's, two 10's, and three tweeters. I thought they sounded great, but they were huge, and heavy as hell.

Jeff Bober has a 12-10 cabinet http://www.eastamplification.com/. I played it at the NY Amp show last year and really liked it!
Why don't you take your little Cobra Kais and get outta here?!

My solid state Polytone Mini Brute III / IV / V / M-PA w/100 watts :
It's got a set of cabs ( 2) with a 8" and 12" speakers in them .
They are killer sounding for vocal - guitar , acoustic or electric or electric bass guitar , doesn't matter the sound is great .
For jazz & blues I go straight in with no pedals - For Rock-N-Roll I put an FX/chorus link into the chain and it kicks serious electric guitar sounds .
Even though it's not stereo the synthesizer sounds from my Roland GR33 guitar synthesizer module sound pretty good as well coming through it .
I got them used a few years ago and have gigged with them quite a few times and they are really great sounding little speakers . They must be from the early 1970s they sure have proved themselves to be road worthy .
They are as vintage as it gets
Hurricane Ramon
It started for me with Twinkle Twinkle Little Star in 54 on a Blues Harp and progressed , then life .....some death ....Evolving as I went like a small rock in a stream rounding out as I went with the flow as I go through the white waters and waterfalls of life . Life has always been interesting to me
I'm almost certain that I remember a Matchless extension cabinet with two 12s and two 10s. I think it was called something like the ES1012. But that's history now.
