Default A pub tale for mattt

I was in a pub last Saturday night. Had a few and noticed two very large women at the bar.
They both had strong accents so I asked,

"Hey, are you two ladies from Scotland?"

One of them chirped, "It's WALES, you stupid idiot!"

So, I immediately apologized and said, "I'm sorry. Are you two whales from Scotland?"

    That's all I remember.

anything you can't do on a Les Paul is because you haven't practiced enough or you don't rock hard enough.

Aye, every band I like that hails from Scotland (Idlewild, We Were Promised Jetpacks, Franz Ferdinand, Sneak Attack Tigers) all sing with a great Scots accent. Whereas the Welsh bands I like (Funeral For a Friend, Future of The Left, Stereophonics) almost sing as if they have an American accent at times (as many English bands are guilty of as well).

And then there's Mogwai: a Scottish band with at least one song sung entirely in Welsh.

Thirty years ago, there was no shortage of Welsh rock bands singing in their native language but their musical styles were pastiches of American genres. My favourite one sounded like AC/DC.

Yeah. I always thought Irish was a hard language to read, but Welsh is a ****ing trainwreck.
Every love that made me lose my reasoning. Every chord that made my conscience ache. Every day spent counting hours. Well, none of them comes close to singing back a song inside my head.

    I remember calloused hands and paint-stained jeans, and I remember safe-as-houses self-belief.
