    Default We all know about TeleGibs, but what about a StraTele?

    This has just popped up on ebay, and I don't think I've seen anything like it before. What do you think?

    There was an article in Guitarist a few years back, where they gave 3 lower end Pacificas to some of the staff, along with a small budget, then told the to mod away. Some of the results were cool, some marginally less so. It made for a nice fun article though.

    I always rather liked the look of the Mike Stern signature model on those, it's quite similar to what you've posted here

    Yes. Also it's not a tele neck pickup, it's a full size strat pickup (Lace Chrome Dome). I've since added a three-way switch just in front of the control plate. There's a pic in my profile of the guitar with the switch.

    I know it sounds weird, but Teles feel better to me than Strats and sound better, too. IMHO, a superior guitar to the Strat in just about every way. To me, it'd be making it worse.

    I call my current guitar a StraTeleGib, because it's got a splittable nickel C5, strat middle, and hand wound tele neck. And a hard tail strat bridge that goes through to string ferrules. On mine, there's also new CTS pots and Fender Vintage dome knobs.

    It's basically an upgraded Modern Player Tele Plus.
