Default NGD: Japan snow white So-Cal.....probably not for me :(

Played superstrats in the 80's but the last 20 years I've mostly been a Gibson guy and most my trem guitars were Fender or PRS style and I didn't use them.

Enter snow white So-Cal GAS. Picked one up and its a really good guitar. Plays good, sounds good, feels good, looks incredible; but man its apparent that my style has evolved and I am not liking the Floyd at all.

So I don't know if I'm to flip it, trade it, part it out, or block it and keep it a while (shocking, I know). I originally had GAS for a Jake style hardtail.

Love it. Try blocking it and see if it's a keeper.

Don't block it, have some of the angle routed out of the neck pocket thus making it dive only with the Floyd resting on the body. I'm sure the tech you've used for all your other projects could handle that no problem. I've done that to every production model Charvel I've owned. Then you get the added bonus of great tuning stability from a floyd, you can use a D-Tuna if you want, you can dive bomb all day long and it will always go back in tune, string changes are just as quick as a strat (no balancing act with the floating trem) etc etc lots of bonuses with the only negative being no pull ups...whoop de doo, no big loss there. Plus it will sound worlds better with the floyd resting on the body since there's more than just the thin knife edges transferring the strings vibrations to the body, it's the whole back edge of the trem doing it too. It's also more comfortable to play when the floyd is closer to the body VS flying way above it.

All my Floyded guitars are dive only, I wouldn't have it any other way.

Shes a beuaty. I would block it and keep it. Floydupgrades.com had alot of cool gadgets to block it but keep it easily reverseable.

Keep it man. Even though you don't floyd at all, having an FR guitar is a must in a guitarist collection. You know what, I have actually come close to buying the So Cal but I couldn't find the right excuse to justify buying one cause I have 5 guitars already and some of them I rarely play. Ha!

Tremol-no. I've got a buddy that SWEARS by them. I've never tried installing one, myself, but he's not particularly mechanically inclined and all his work like a champ. Rock solid.

anything you can't do on a Les Paul is because you haven't practiced enough or you don't rock hard enough.

That is a very good looking guitar. Plus the case looks bullet proof!

Play it like you mean it!

    cool info!!

Ive had good luck with the tremstop (cant think what its called) like what came in my old Kramer. simple and effective and quickly bypassable. Also, I added a big block to my Charvel (same model) and it sustains incredibly now.

One of my favorite guitars ever. (I want a black one!!) I find I rarely use floyds anymore, but it doesnt bother me..

Believe me when I say that some of the most amazing music in history was made on equipment that's not as good as what you own right now.

Good product. I've installed a bunch on my PRS and EBMM guitars.

It's a beaut no doubt. The fact that all those Charvels have floyds have kept me away (and that I have 11 other guitars including a Jackson soloist).

I vote for the tremol-no and maybe do something to the nut like having a rolling one installed in place of the locking one.

I'd sell/trade it and get something I like completely.
