A neck humbucker hybrid to go with the 59/custom. Most neck hybrids are of the same wire gauge. But the mixing of wires is part of what's great about the 59/custom.

I wish a HB-sized single made the list. I think SD could make a killer vintage style P90 in a humbucker size. I know we have Phat Cats, and I love mine, but w/A2's they don't sound a lot like old P90's. We also have P-Rails which have a good 90 sound, but sometimes you don't want/need the rail with it. Plus, it could easily have metal covers, unlike the P-Rail.

Fear not guys, once the basic package style is decided, I'll ask for suggestions for poll selections for the winner. ie, if Humbucker wins, I could see options such as Dual blade, single blade with slot screws, blade with allen screws, dual allen, dual slot, dual slug, single coil in a humbucker housing etc etc etc... We've only just begun!

I'v thought about this one for a while, and I know I'm going to either be outvoted, or told it's stupid, but I want one of these three:

A reverse wound P90 pup with a ceramic mag

    A single coil invader

    Or

Humbuckers in P90 housings (JB, Jazz, etc.)

The third one seems really realistic as if you check out the EMG site, that's what they do for their P90's, they just take the 81, 85, and the 60, and jam them into P90 housings. That seems not only lazy, but also realistic. I love the sound of a P90, but I also love my metal, and to me, if you put a single JB in like a classic LP Jr, then that's metal to me.

The third one is interesting. DiMarzio make P-90 sized versions of the Tone Zone and Super Distortion, so it's definitely not an impossible idea.

    I'd like a "Little '78" for Telecaster.

Vote for Single Sized Humbucker. The Strat or Tele choice would be next if it wins.

I voted p-90, with the hope that the focus would be to try and achieve a full-fledged strat-like single coil sound w/o hum, which is something that still remains elusive in the p-90 market.

    The StratBro90 looks AWESOME!

It'll be great to get something completely unique and out of the ordinary like the StratBro90 but in a humbucker package.

Anything Telecaster would be great to.

I'm still looking for the perfect humbucker (bridge and neck set) so I vote humbucker.

I voted full size bucker. Especially if it's based off the El Diablo. Matched set would be even better. But I'm also good with a bucker in a P90 housing as long as it's something out of the ordinary. Not just standard production bucker crammed into a soap bar housing.

This only happens once in awhile guys. Some of the newer members haven't had a chance to go through this yet. Get creative!

Let's get create with single sized humbuckers. Some unpotted more raw thing than the lame little 59. A 78 in Tele or Strat format sounds good to me.

Did anyone ever do Alnico 8 in mini buckers?

If I'm not mistaken, the Diablo style pickups, the blades are the magnets and they are Alnico 2. We'd have to get with Evan to see if that can be done, or if it's even something we'd want to do. The Alnico 8's may be to strong to use in that style of pickup. It could probably be done with a Dimebucker type pickup though.

I'm pretty sure that is what he is talking about. I vote we design a neck pickup specifically for a 24-fret guitar, like a shred type pickup. I am thinking one coil from a DDn, and one from a jazz, with hex pole screws, and an A4 magnet. A5 if necessary. I think it would be a good idea.

I'm voting humbucker. Something like a hotter 59b or a milder Custom with a UOA5 mag might be kind of interesting.
