What did you guys do today?

Here's a sample of stuff I saw today.

Woke up @ 3:15a.m. Shower,clothes,gear loaded into truck
Pickup up huntin buddy @ 4:00a.m.

Drove hour and a half north to elk scout and set up trail cams
Spied some elk feeding in fields 18 bulls in all every one of them still in velvet... still growing....





(DISCLAIMER... I AM NOT A PROFESSIONAL VIDEOGRAPHER... its wobbly and shaky... but I do a much better job than my buddy who holds the camera when I'm setting up my trail cam ha ha) Its a tiny little Panasonic that fits in my pocket... but it has 70x zoom

We Drove on out way past town and called at coyotes... nothing came in.... so we unpopulated a local prairie dog town...

Drove Back into town for breakfast and to grab another trail camera, My buddy opened his archery store up half an hour early just for us! Nice guy!

We Drove up a mountain. Hiked a mile up into the pines and planted first trail camera

Spotted lots of young bucks and a couple middle aged bucks... all have 5-6 weeks of growing still to do... they're just starting to turn upwards now...

Saw a total of 20 bucks and 1 skanky doe



We Hiked 2 more miles up Planted second trail cam
spied more bucks and lots of bear sign (I usually see 2 or more bears every other time I'm in there... thats why the pistols are locked and cocked and ready to rock)

Hiked 4 miles across to super secret honey hole.... planted 3rd trail camera

hiked few miles back down to truck... drove back to town grabbed a bite to eat, 4:00p.m. then headed home... showered (cuz I really needed it) P-YOU It was a sweaty one!

ran to the store for my wife (High school girls night out in my living room so I lock myself in my room)

I mixed up a Jack Daniels Devils Cut and Dr. Pepper.... and now here I sit uploading video's ...

Got me beat! I got out of bed at 10, scratched my balls, took a shower, and read a whole book. Now I'm drunk and listening to Gojira.

I'll be happy when his new job starts on the 23rd. I'm sick of wasting my days.

I will do that. I'm really hoping it cools off a bit more so I can get back out there, get my bow sighted back in and get some shooting done. Already got my Winchester .357 driving tacks for rifle season. Been to dam hot to take anymore than a few shots with the bow. Probably have to take it down a few pounds until I get my fat butt back in shape with it lol!

Elk , prepared correctly , is some of the very finest tasting meat I have ever atean.
I would never attempt it cook it with my marginal skills.
Nor would i ever attempt to lure a bull with a mating call..ya never know when it might work, and I mean that in the truest sense!
I love whitetail deer backstrap. Its really a delicasy if one knows how to prepare it in a fried steak, and in my experience, not many do. Other than that, I couldn't care less for deer.
Once I ragged on 80's metal for hunting, but thats cause of my bitter experience with lots of bloodthirsty horn-hunters around here, but I see he lives for the hunt, and repects his quarry, and makes good use of the meat andisnt just a trophy hunter.

I truly do respect the game animals I hunt.
Then I kill it and eat it all up.... mmm mmm good! Nothing better than finely prepared Elk in my humble opinion of course.... (pronghorn and buffalo are also very, very tasty)
