And once again all you've done is dream about buying a guitar. Either buy something or shutup about how you're going to buy something. Have you ever noticed how it is when I buy a guitar? I don't make posts about how much I'd like to buy a guitar. I buy a guitar that I like and then I post about it. Sh!t or get off the pot, man!!

The irony of an anonymous and relative n00b giving people a hard time for anonymously giving someone a hard time is off the charts.

He actually turns at the last second and shoulder-checks the solid front door on purpose, because he thinks the loud "thump" of it rattling in the frame is a funny sound.

I don't spend a lot of time on my computer, unless I have work that has to be done on it, and I am normally pretty busy. in my interactions with others, I am used to seeing their body language, hearing their tonality, things like that. I haven't been on this site very long, so I don't know everyone on here or what their personalities are like. but when I was a kid, I knew this one kid named teddy. he was somewhat feminine, didn't really know how to stand up for himself, and with a name like that, you can imagine what it was like for him. we weren't super close or anything, but I knew him for years, and I always thought he was a nice kid. I never saw him be mean to anyone or anything, but I saw him get picked on, beat on and bullied by other kids countless times. he'd usually try and smile or laugh it off, but I could tell by the look in his eye he didn't think it was too funny being pushed around and bullied. but still, I didn't really think about it or care all that much. I was just a kid, and I was too busy having fun with my friends and stuff like that. I ended up moving to a different town in highschool but a few years later, I found out that that kid killed himself. I don't know if it was necessarily because of the way people treated him, but I'm sure that it didn't help. so yeah, I do have a tendency to over react if I ever see or hear someone being treated poorly by others. it doesn't always make me friends, but I'd rather over react than under react.

I hope at least one person will read this and maybe think about what I'm saying for a second. I'd give just about anything if I could go back and be nicer to that kid or stand up for him, or even just say a couple of nice things to him every now and then. maybe things would have been different if he'd had just one friend back in school...but I guess I'll never know.
That's a poignant story and I appreciate you sharing it, but in your eagerness to defend Astro, you're missing a key detail.

He might be a bit of a wind-up artist, dress a little emo, and come off as a little naive. He might post a lot of threads about fantadsy guitars he will never buy. We all knew that nothing was coming from one guitar "winning" over another one. It's a meaningless self-indulgence that we've all seen before, but He's not an effeminate little weirdo who gets his asa kicked every day - he's a young guy who has played in numerous bands on stages and to crowds larger than most folks here ever will - and people here are happy for him when he does. He's also reportedly somewhat of a hit with the young ladies, and he lives in Puerto Rico, so the young ladies aren't dogs, either.

He's got good things going for him, and he's more demeaned than defended by someone jumping to his defense like he's the wimpiest kid on the schoolbus without knowing any of the parties involved, however well-intentioned they may be.

Yeah, typed on a Kindle Fire no less, hence all the tense and subject disagreements and other sordid grammatical miscues...

Astro...before you buy that one....make sure you try out the Brian Setzer model. It has 4 sound posts and can play sounds with a lot of gain and volume before feeding back, cos i know that might come in handy for you. I love gretsches, but make sure you try it out at full stage volume for a few hours first to make sure itll do the job. Beg, borrow or steal if you have to.
That one you are playing is fkn cool tho.

Seriously? Come on, man. That's a total a-hole remark and shows absolutely no respect. That's not what this forum is about. Completely ridiculous!!
