I don't think the number of people needed to order has been set....yet. Price break will depend on what all goes into the pickup. In the past they've been right around $100+/-. Which is a good bit off a regular priced custom shop piece.

Were we able to vote on more than one part of the pole? If so, this needs to go to a revote because I don't think everyone realized you could vote on the pickup and the position in this poll. Either that or do a separate poll for the position.

Also, just throwing this out there, has anyone talked to Evan to see if the CS was willing to do a matched set? If that option is there, there's no sense in voting on a position.

It was a multiple choice poll. I indicated such in my first post.

A number of people voted in 2 or more places...

I can run the position poll again if needed.

jazz/59 hybrid is a great neckpickup and really fills that gap in the lineup.

I will likely be interested in whatever is made since I could always use another good humbucker, but a humbucker sized p90 for the neck would make me really really interested. But, I have been conteplating getting a '78 so any kind of neck pickup that would compliment it would get me interested.

If the 59/Custom Hybrid sells well, I imagine they will market a 59/Jazz Neck Hybrid... it is a fantastic pickup!

I would love to hear a 78' Model/Custom Hybrid made as a Parallel Axis Bucker!

That sounds interesting. I don't see why the SD company doesn't have more Parallel Axis humbuckers. The 3 regular production models sound freaking awesome and work well in any guitar I've tried them in. Maybe another topic for another thread.

Ah, don't get me started. I love all three of my 8's but what I loved the most in the Crazy 8 is how little the string pull is in comparison to the Custom 8 I have in my MG-100.

Curiously, the Alt 8 in my MG-104 doesn't even come close in that regard and both guitars are surface mount and very similar in build (they're both from the same line of guitars)

Looks like Neck position Dual Coil Humbucker has won.

I will post the next poll on 7/19/2012 as soon as I get home from work.

What do you guys think about this?:

Schizo-Bucker. 5-conductor humbucker, still just 2 coils. 1 coil an average wind, like a Jazz. The other coil hotter/overwound maybe in the range of somewhere between Demon & Custom, but a coil tap that takes this coil to underwound. With the flick of a switch, or pull of a tone pot, the resonant peak and output would change. Plus, the dominant coil would now be in a slightly different position relative to strings. Overall, there would be a dramatic change in character, or personality...hence, the schizophrenia reference.

This would be a highly versatile pickup, could be used in neck or bridge, and is not something we pickup tinkerers could easily do ourselves.

Sounds kinda like Zhangs splat tap. The Demon is underwound in relation to a Jazz, they use different sizes of wire. Tapping a Demon even further would not be appealing. BUT, tapping a Custom coil as such that it would drop down to a Demon-ish range might be a neato idea.

I do like that tapped coil idea, very versatile.

I was suggesting "between Demon & Custom". A unique coil, not one or the other of existing coils. I think many will have good suggestions on winds. Hopefully, Pinto will include the concept in the next poll.
I was not aware of the splat tap, I'll check it out. Thanks

Duncan Distortion neck is between Demon and a Custom, it's wound with 43 ga wire and wound to about 12.7k.
