    Default Custom 8 opinion

I have been searching for a pickup that has nice highs like the custom custom's in my guitars but a bigger tighter bass. The regular Custom was just not doing it for because of the harsh highs it has. So today my alnico 8 magnets came in so i went and put one straight into my Schecter C-1+ and DAM. this is the chunkiest pick up i have probably played. Still really nice highs not quite as good as the CC was to me but they will still do. It is definitely much tighter than the CC and the mids are HUGE. Sometimes it does get the "Cocked Wah" effect that people talk about on here but i actually like it. It just sounds massive. Haven't had a chance to play with it in a band situation but i believe it well be able to cut pretty well. All in all, this is definitely my new favorite pickup. I will try to post some before and after clips when i go to change it on my Schecter Tempest.

Awesome!! Brings a tear to my eye everytime I hear another C8 love story.... Its been my favorite for a few years now..
Believe me when I say that some of the most amazing music in history was made on equipment that's not as good as what you own right now.

it really is an amazing pickup. i have noticed (especially at lower gain) that the harder you hit the strings the more bright and open the pickup appears to become. Thats what it seems like to my ears at least

    I prefer the 2x ceramic. But I have tried the c8 and I said " ******, this is #2.

For less than extreme metal though. I can agree.

if you don't like the regular custom, then the custom 8 is the next logical step. great pickup. it's the best all around tone ive ever played in a pup

You generally can't go too wrong with a C8.

The C8 is really good. It was a way better match for my Jazz than the case for the C5.

Yea it is deffinately one of the best i have played thus far. Although i havent tried many and havent been able to scrounge enough change together for a "boutique" pickup. Although i would love to try a BKP Nailbomb..
