Heres the story. ;
2001 Carslbro 'Fatboy' model amp made in Nottinghamshire England.
Pretty pricey amp at the time, both here and in England.
Class A amp ( actually running A up to about 5 watts I guess, then AB).
I've never seen a picture of the guts, so here ya go.

Pretty thin circuit board, and although it looks like a decent well executed layout, the ceramic tube sockets and Potentiometers are circuit board mounted. Torroidial Transformers.

Ive been trying to sell or trade this, but no one is interested. Its a fantastic sounding amp though- really has that high octane Vox Chime tone going on.

If it sounds good and came to you at the right price, enjoy it for what it is. If that same amp was point-to-point with chasis-mounted jacks, pots, kobs and valve sockets, it would probably cost four times the amount.

Torroidal transformers are great, they help keep the humm level down and make an amp a lot less heavy.

Where did you get 5 watts??

I count 3 preamp tubes and 4 EL84's...thats 30 watts no matter what side of the pond yer on.
