    I love MXR flangers! They have this wonderful organic-sounding swish that blends nicely with your tone. I find that the Boss and ADA flangers sit on top of your tone, whereas the MXR's melt into it.

    Man, that just seems like a weird thing to write, but I believe it.

    Not weird at all. I've struggled(is that too strong a word?) with that with most flangers I've demo'd. It also seems like a lot of phasers and choruses have the same issue for me.

    And many boutique clipping boxes, which seems weird for me to write. It has seemed to me like many of the units labeled "transparent" sound like a dry guitar with a copious amount of diode clipping floating around the edges. I prefer circuits that make it seem as if the guitar itself is distorted, or that the distortion is a natural component of the guitar's sound.
