    Default Partscaster

Partscaster built around a vintage c.1980 Yamaha body

Body / trem block from a Yamaha SuperRnRoller. Wood is Sen (~Asian Ash)

Rose Mariposa pickups (domestic hand wound, not imports)

Mighty Mite neck rosewood on maple

    IIRC, tuners are GFS Gotohs

    Plays great.

    Asking $250 shipped / pp'd

    All reasonable offers considered

    No, it is S-S-S

I forgot to note, the trem bar is not the exact thread for the block . Not an issue, but in the interest of disclosure, I just wrapped a piece of teflon tape around the threads. The next owner could just get the correct trem bar for a couple $

Will also consider trades for a Dano 56, 59 or Mod 6

Thats a really good buy! Can you tell me anything about the sound properties of japanese Sen?
IIRC, its a furniture grade wood, that doesnt really sound like out North American hard Ash, but more warm, like a Limba ( which is white Korina , I think).

Sen sounds almost nothing like Limba...I've owned a lot of Sen over the years and still have some real Limba...

Sen still sounds like it's from the ash/alder maybe even poplar family tree while Limba is MUCH closer to mahogany.

I think the Sen/Limba connection is that Ibanez used Sen for their Korina guitars in the 70's but if you play a Rocket Roll or Destroyer next to a real limba V or Explorer you can hear that they are really rather different sounding guitars all together...whats even funnier is that they don't really look right either!

Yeah I would put it more rounded tone like poplar or ash. It doesn't have the mid presence of alder
