Default User Group Pickup Specs Poll #4

OK. Here's everyone's chance to decide what this monstrosity of ours is going to sound like.

I'm going to suggest that we leave the magnet type, blade as magnet or not etc etc up to MJ and Seymour.

I'm going to treat the tone like a steak...

    Poll Coming!

Too many options. You're going to split the polls again. Shoulda started with vintage, medium, high outputs and narrowed it down from there.

It'll be ok. Otherwise we'll end up with far too many polls...

A blade/screw combo seems a fair compromise to me. Sorry, I can't let it go.

I think this pole should have been done before the other i.e the pole pieces. Any way would love to see something matching the Brobucker.

It doesn't matter. These polls aren't about focus, they are about options...lots of options.

I'm just going to put this out there just for the sake of not being "holier than thou". I voted P90, full sized bucker, and dual blades. So 2 out of 3 of my choices got outvoted by a long shot. I'd also like to state, that I've not complained about this fact once. I'm not narrow minded nor thick headed enough to think that something cool can't come of this because it didn't line up with what I chose. It's glaringly obvious there's a few that can't look past their personal agenda. I guess Masta'C and I agree on this point.
I also wouldn't go as far as calling people cowards either. We said our piece, and moved on. It doesn't mean we lack the courage to continue on w/ the ensuing flames of other posters that disagree. It's means we've either become so disenchanted or disinterested with the way things are going that we just don't care.

I think I've taken more than enough server space on this topic. If anyone wants to debate this any further, my PM box is open.

    Now to Pinto.....

Trevor, if you ever feel that what you're doing here is unappreciated, stop. I think everyone here commends you for stepping up to do this. These things aren't easy and everyone one of us would have done it differently. There is no set way to do it, but all of them eventually get to the same result. Kudos to you on having a thick enough skin to kick a hornets nest. It is appreciated!

Almost voted medium rare...but went with medium instead. I'll be happy with either of the front runners, and likely put in in the bridge slot of who knows what guitar.

I've also "lost" in every poll but one so far, but I want to keep playing just for the hell of it. (I voted P-90, dual coil, bridge pickup, double screw, and only the dual coil one made the cut.)

I know the last thread (not the one with the poll), went on for a while - I didn't read it beyond the point where it only had about 6 posts in it. No idea what was said, nor who said it. I would say though, that this poll isn't anywhere near what I'd anticipated, and I'm glad of that. In my view, we should be specifying our functional (and maybe non-functional) needs, not designing the solution. SD are the people who know how to make certain things happen in a pickup, far better than we do - it's how they earn their corn. So let's keep going on this track and we may just end up with something special. If we end up with something that aligns with where the poll is heading right now, I'll be delighted, and I couldn't care less what it looks like, how many coils it's got, what the magnet is, whether there are blades or screws in it, or any of that stuff. Let's get it on...

This whole thing is a cluster****. It seems like all you guys want is a weird looking neck humbucker that sounds, well, like everything, ever.

anything you can't do on a Les Paul is because you haven't practiced enough or you don't rock hard enough.

I had the idea of covering this mutant with a blackouts style cover, but if it's deemed that the A2 mag for the blade style bobbin is used, they won't fit over it, nor do I think the covers will fit the PATB bobbins since they're squared off instead of round.
