A tapped P-90 is a great idea. I have one in my SG Jr. and love it. It's about 7k tapped and 10k at full. Sounds beautiful.

For a tapable P90, track down a P90 from a Firebird Studio. I just saw one on E-Bay not that long ago. They are soapbars, so you'll need to swap the baseplates.

A P-100 is EASY to do it with, since they are actually stacked humbuckrs. Except that they suck. Quietly.

You need a pro to do a good wind/tap of the real p-90.
