anything you can't do on a Les Paul is because you haven't practiced enough or you don't rock hard enough.

Try the A8, especially if you have the Custom wind. Don't forget though, that you'll need to hybridise too. Accept no substitutes...

Try them without magnets for the ultimate airy tone.

I wonder if that would make them quieter?

That's the best suggestion I've seen in here in months!

I think it stems from not knowing what kind of pups. Need to know what you have to start with to make sugestions on mods. Could be wrong, maybe people just woke up on the wrong side of the bed.

I'm an internet person. All we do is waste time evaluating things that have next-to-zero real world significance.

    Round ones.

Better yet, get a rusty nail and some wire and a couple of D-size batteries and wind your own electromagnet and shove it under the slug coil, with a melba toast spacer under the screw coil.

But you need a really old rusty nail, like from an old cabin in the woods. You want vintage Pre-War (pick one) nails for the best tone.

    And use Energizer Ultra batteries.

And 22ga solid copper wire, not stranded.

O ! throw them away and put in one of these, then you'd have the worlds first Helical Scan pup. You might have to route the guitar out a bit and add a power feed for the rotary drive, but it'll be worth it. Oh! And modify where the heads are mounted on the head drum.

Yes, it's a head in a vcr , but you can remove them.
I've been wanting to build a helical Scan pup for ages, man. It'd eat everything else for breakfast. You could even set it up to output digital.

How did you know about my posterior discomfort? I've been hooked on that new berry Mt. Dew to. The die in it turns my poo dark BLUE. After authentic Mexican food and 2 bottles of that last night......It was large, painful, and obnoxious. I was sweating like a bald headed TV cop, but I closed my eyes and felt all those deep bends. When it was all over, I thought of 334 things to name it, but there was only 1 true name. Epiphone obviously...Then I gave it a sneer. Asked it "Who love's ya baby?" and sent on it's way. I bet an alnico 8 mag would have helped pass that beast.

Well i don't even know what kind of pups you got, so I wouldn't even begin to suggest what mags you can go with. So i'll just post the list of all the pickup/ mag combos that are great.

    Here it is:

    Any pickup- A5 or A8

    Hope that helps.
