There's no use for a "matched set", although the term is better than "calibrated set".
I'll by whatever comes out of the Custom Shop and is sold at a nice or semi-nice price to forumites. So yes, sure, whatever.

Yes, that would be OUTSTANDING!
No, I'm good with just a neck pickup!

I just voted in the poll before checking on the current results - that's pretty one-sided lol!
I was thinking of putting the neck version in the bridge position of my Tele, maybe a second in the neck. Having a bridge version would be a nice option.
However, if the neck pickup was hot enough, and tapped, we could use the same pickup as a bridge and neck.
And to those that don't want a tapped version because of the extra 1 or 2 wires: just don't use them. I'm sure they'd be different colours from the normal 4 used, and you'd just have to leave them sheathed, or taped off if you prefer (or tell that to your tech ... wussies)

I didn't mean that at all! I was merely indicating that I'm likely going to use this pickup as a bridge pickup... and wouldn't be able to buy 2 anyway... I guess I left out the part where I was going to say that I wasn't voting on this one so as to not conflict with those that want a pair.
I'm all for the pair!!! Really!!!
I only bought one StraBro90 also. I actually wish I had bought a set. I might feel that way later, but finances often dictate behaviour...

I think the neck pickup idea only came into play because we wanted a regular humbucker and couldn't off-hand come up with anything that hasn't been done before. In the neck space there is more opportunity.

I'm totally for a matched set, as it should take out a ton of extra work trying to match the pickup. Of course, they have to sound good, but I think we all have faith that Seymour and MJ wouldn't build a bad sounding pickup (even if they had to change a spec or two from the voting polls).
Also, because the coil configuration isn't standard, it will actually look good as a set.
Whatever became of the Parallel Axis Staple?
Did some digging and I found the thread.

Thank you!
What happened to this prototype?
The P-90 format puts a serious limit on sales, I reckon.
We didn't get any specs, so we can't even imagine a use for it.
Or, being a Custom Shop offering, you can have it wound like any other p'up on the HB line, being the the appealing factor the form, which should be a direct replacement for a mini-hum or firebird.
I, for one, never liked the mini-hums... maybe this could be THE mind-changer p'up?
Evan, I think we deserve to have at least SOME info about'em.
Well...?

I guess I'm asking about a matched set lol. I didn't think it would be that much of a runaway poll!
