Default From the archives: A song from my first "real" band

After being kicked out of umpteen bands, I started doing my own thing in the early-mid 90's.

This is a demo from my first "real" band, Urshurak, with my brother on vox. I was a young whelp, knew virtually NOTHING about audio or mixing at the time, but we were sincere.

This is Part 1 of a 2-part epic, The Wizard In The Tower. It's proggy ... and metally! Enjoy!

Thanks! I will be posting the backing track to the sequel ... we did a live rehearsal of it, but never had a chance to formalize the demo. I also have a mega-epic we recorded back in the day which I will post soon, too. "They were the best of times, they were the worst of times" lol

+1 No kidding man. I've recorded more than a few demos, and those drums sound amazing. Just out of curiosity, how many tracks were you working with there? I think the most I've used in a mix so far is 20-24.

    Thanks so much!

Actually, on that song the drums are actually Roland V-Drums. In fact, everything is DI because it was just our songwriting demo to get the arrangement down ...

That song was probably about 30-ish tracks when done.
