Thanks again everyone. I'm sure its not everyones cuppa tea, as the body turned out more yellowish-orange than I wouldve preferred.
Right now Ive got a Tx. Spl. in the bridge, and a late 70's Dimarzio PAF, but that could change if I find an early Duncan 59B for the neck.

I'm looking for one of the earliest ones made, and I'm not sure if they made the neck model back then.

Did you turn the pickup 180 in the cover or does that pickup have two rows of slugs? I doubt few pickups from the 70's were calibrated for their position so I wouldn't worry about it.

I'm not a 100% sure, but I think they made both bridge and neck model 59's early on.

Nice job on the Tele. I'm still not a big Tele fan, but they are growing on me. I'll build one eventually, but I'm pretty sure I want an Esquire. I miss my single pickup guitars. They really make you work the volume and tone controls.

Two rows of slugs. Some of the earliest Dimarzio pAF's were made that way.
Very warm pickup, but on the muddy side , thats why I think eventually I'd like to have the Duncan 59.
On the positive side, the in between position ( bridge and middle) sounds just right.

IIRC Dimarzio made some double slug pickups for Hondo guitars. The guitars were mid-grade but the pickups weren't bad. If it's too dark an A3 will make it sweet and snappy.

I understand what you are doing but FWIW, a new one will sound just as good and cost a lot less but I get it...

That said I am pretty sure they have N and B models very early on so I'd look for a Neck version...even a neck can be muddy, a Bridge version will be even worse.

Not to mention balance with the single coil in the bridge
