    Default Pre-Season Football

GB vs SD: GB's first stringers didn't get very far against SD's. SD got out to a commanding lead that wasn't challenged until the 3rd quarter. GB's decision to go with a 2 point conversion was greedy and short sighted.

PHI vs PIT: PHI's defense was poor and Vick went out early in the 1st. PIT had their way until halftime. Neither side played good defense. Kafka floundered. Nick Foles electrified the game in the 3rd and Trent Edwards moved the ball effectively in the 4th. I'm not sure why they put Edwards 4th in the depth chart behind Kafka and Foles?

I generally avoid Pre-season. It just sets all kind of bad expectations.

Teams are not trying their hardest
    They want to avoid injuries
They try random crap just to see how it might go in a game situation
They do stuff they normally don't to throw the opposition during the season

I agree - some football is way better than none. But I don't sweat this much at all. Call me when the first game counts.

Went back n forth between all the starters yesterday. Atlanta looked DAMN good. Jones was tearing up the Ravens D. I remember going back to that game later and wondering wtf happened to put Baltimore up 31-17... It was none other than Curtis Painter! Hah! I didn't even know he went to Baltimore. That's some funny ****.

Manning looked good being back out there. Shame it ended in a tipped int. That drive looked better than all of Tebow time combined though.

Charges looked great. GB's secondary still sucks. Gates tore right through em.

Pitt's O-line looked shaky and Vick still has happy feet. Great ending by Philly though. Trent Edwards looked great.

I know these games don't count but I love preseason. Love seeing rookies trying to make the cut. Lots of heart out there.

It used to be that the (S)Aints would win ALL of their pre-season games.

P33ps would get all excited and verklempt.

    Then the season would start.....

So two weeks ago you were enthusiastic about the pre-season, but now it is worthy of contempt? http://www.seymourduncan.com/forum/s...light=football

What I like about the pre-season is when you see someone that stands out the pre-season and becomes a star in the regular season like Danny Woodhead or Victor Cruise. I also like being able to watch 10hrs of football a day.

BAL vs ATL: ATL got out to a fast start but BAL had staying power. Taylor had flashes of brilliance but he came up short. The big surprise Curtis Painter played well behind an offensive line that gave him time to roll out and check down. Kind of makes you wonder if IND had protected Manning better if he would have needed surgery and if Painter wouldn't have made the blooper real all last season?

    Welp that's all done with.

How'd your team look, if they played tonight?

NYJ vs CIN: Sanchez looked flat and left the game early. Tebo looked flat as they tried to shoe horn him into an unimaginative short yardage game. Gradkowski managed to complete most of his passes to the back of his center's helmet. If CIN can't give Gradkowski a pocket he won't succeed because he has zero mobility. The only bright spot was CIN's running game had their way with NYJ's 2nd string defense in the 3rd.

NYG vs JAC: I'll be damned a regular season football game broke out in Jacksonville! Henne sucked but Gabbert looks better. Jordan Palmer looked great.

MIN vs SF: SF's running game plowed MIN. MIN couldn't protect the edge. MIN's running game was the only bright spot.

BUF vs WAS: I wasn't impressed by anything in this game. Buffalo was sloppy and had two scoring drives taken away from them for procedure calls.

NO vs NE: I was surprised by how poorly both sides played. Both offenses looked rusty and NE usually roars out of the gate in the pre-season. Both sides played good defense though and NE finally looks like it has a running game.

All I know is that the Broncos crushed the Bears on Thursday and I'll get to see PFM at QB when they beat the Seahawks.

I agree with Ace, I'd rather have two pre-season games and get on with the real ones.

According to the Patriots website they won their game.

I've stomached about as much as I can of watching the Suckhawks in their game against the Titans.
Seattle's uniform has gone from one of the stupidest looking in the NFL to outright laughable.
    Good Jeebenus!

(New Englands ain't no prize either)

Texans poised to dominate this year. Even in crummy postseason with none of their starters they look indomitable.
Youth, experience, speed, size, aggression, coaching, O-line,D-line..they seemingly have all the pieces of the puzzle finally . A ridicoulously strong team in every way shape and form.
I'd say they are counterparts of the fearsome West Coast 9'ers this year .Even IF there are some blunders like last year, I dont think it will stop the Texans from winning those same type of games they dropped last year in such circumstances..they are too strong now across the board.
    The schedule this is year is a dream schedule for a true fan, and will put our Texans to the test, pitting Houston against the leagues finest..BRING IT!;

Falcons lost, which Saints fans count as a win for us
Saints lost to the Patriots, which sucks considering how we slaughtered them in '09, leaving Bill and Tom on the sidelines with looks that define "perplexed".

Texans beat the Newtons. Hopefully that will be repeated all year long so we can stop hearing about how great Barack Newton is.

Eli is still the 3rd most-talked-about QB in New York poor adopted Eli

MIN and SF are on TV right now. Was supposed to be Tight'uns and whoever they were going to lose to.

I like preseason because it means they're not showing 24 hours of Dallas replays.
I don't like preseason because the talking heads are talking about playoffs already.
I like preseason because it means they'll stop showing "the top 5 ____ plays that did not paint the Saints in a victorious light from the 2011 season". I mean, they pick anything to keep from showing the Saints doing anything but losing. Even most of the 2009 recaps were showing the handful of minor attempts by someone N.O. beat. Twice.

"And now, the top 5 10-yard runs from the 2009 season!"
"And now, the top 5 Gatorade guzzles from the 2009 season!"
"And now, the top 5 scoring a field goal against New Orleans from the 2009 season!"
"And now, the top 5 cheerleader closeups from the 2009 season!"
"And now, the top 5 Officiating Huddles from the 2009 season!"
"And now, the top 5 self-inflicted yardage losses from the 2009 season!"

But let the Saints do one thing wrong and it's back to the old "see, this is why no one in the League wants the Saints to even exist!" routine we've always had to endure. Other owners hate us, other coaches hate us, the officiating committee hates us, and the NFL commission in general hates the idea that the New Orleans Saints exist, and it's been that way since day 1.

With the Pop Warner Refs that the NFL is poised to hire, this year has the potential to be one for the records
