Maybe it's the engineer in me, but I pretty much dislike any Olympic event that isn't based on a measurable means of scoring and instead relies on human judgement and opinion. Synchronized swimming, diving, gymnastics, figure skating, equestrian, and so on.....that, to me, is a talent show. If it's not a race or a sport or a measured distance, etc., it's stupid and shouldn't be in the Olympics.

If you take out all sports that can be affected by human error when judging then there are a lot of team sports that wouldn't be included either. Refs can make bad calls in basketball, volleyball and soccer. Should they not be included either?

I see those human judgement calls as situations where no one has developed the technology to automate scoring. That doesn't make them less valid, it's just that they're more difficult to score 100% accurately.

I have some friends into curling, when I asked them what the appeal of it was for the players they responded 'Open bars and free drinks at all events and practices'. A true Canadian sport.

I actually really love curling. I wish there was a 24/7 curling channel that I could watch whenever. Seriously though, it really is a fun game and one of my favorite events of the winter Olympics.
