    Default Favorite Signature Pickups

What are your favorites and why? Any companies, not just Duncans.
Hard Rock - gain on 5 - singing about good times.

Heavy Metal - gain on 10 - screaming about something.

Right now its the SD Jerry Donahue. It is the best sounding single coil tele pickup I've ever used. I just wished it could get it in stacked form.

Shoot, I forgot about the Pearly Gates being a signature pickup. That's definitely my pick.

The Screamin' Demon and Slash neck. I have both of them in my Frankenstrat and that guitar is so perfectly dialed in right now, it's crazy.

Prob the Dimarzio EVO. I like how tight and bright it is.

Pearly, though I'd really like some more time with the Demon. Only briefly tried one when I installed it in a friend's guitar. Perhaps I'll pick one up soon.

I'm curious about the Lynch Super V. I didn't even know he had another signature pickup. I'm also surprised that nobody has mentioned the Suhr Aldrich.

I've tried the Dimebucker (not a fan), a Screamin demon (not a fan), a Slash set (not a fan), and a JH Set from EMG (my friend from work uses them). I don't care for the EMG"s but they're probably the ones I like the most out of all the sig pups I've tried. They don't have that good organic passive sound. That's why if I went active, I'd get blackouts. Case closed.

of the 'signature/artist' pickups I have tried... I like the RTM, the AT-1 and the JB - and the EBMM EVH pups are alright too. if I had to pick just one, it would be the JB.

Of the sig. pickups I've tried I'd say the Dimarzio FRED was my favorite. That pickup sound was great: not so hot yet not so clean. Awesome definition, stayed tight and clear and rocked.
I'd also say the Dmz YJM but I prefer the non-staggered HS-3.

I had a set of Tremonti pickups from PRS that I wish I hadn't let go. I dig my Slash Alnico II's.

Bare Knuckle Rebel Yells are nice, sort of like really beefed up PAFs.

Prices in North America are a little silly though...

The BKP Rebel Yells are truly sig model pickups, although many other BKP models are kind of 'inspired by' models, and the inspiration can be picked in the names they're given, the actual artists they reference didn't have any personal input and probably don't use them. Hoewever, the pickups do very much capture the classic tones of the artists they reference.

But on that level, I'd say the BKP Irish Tours (Rory Gallagher influenced) and the Apaches (Hank Marvin of The Shadows influenced) really do nail those guys tones, but are useable for many other applications, depending on the player using them. I have both these sets in different Strats, and if you can play in the style of the players they allude to, you will nail their sounds.

Personally, in the world of humbuckers, I consider the Custom/59, the 59/Jazz and the JB/Custom hybrids to be (forum member) BachToRock signature models, and i have these pickups in all my humbucker guitars. If they can be considered signature pickups, then they are my favourite sig models.
