Default This JB sounds pretty doggone good

I installed a JB in the bridge position of my American Special. Also put YJM Furys in the neck and middle. After doing a sound test I gotta say the JB sounds excellent. Thumping lows, nice ample midrange, and highs which are not piercing in any way. Sounds like a very rounded pickup and it works good in my Maple Strat.

I did notice though that the JB is just a hair noisier than the YJM is. Not sure why that is. The YJM is dead silent.

Nice setup. I'd imagine it's a great all around HSS set.

The only reason the JB is noisier is because it's more than twice as powerful as the noiseless single coils.

I have a PATB2 original,80's.Sticker says 2BJ. However,DC resistance measures only 15.7 ks. Should be 21ks? What's going on here? Sounds great in my Kramer.Do you think the sticker has been misplaced and it is a PATB1? Thanks. Volcanique ash

Hmm...think I might like it more than the CC that was previously in this guitar...wow.

I don't think they made PATB2's in the '80s. Can you upload a picture of the baseplate for us?

JBs are great pickups for bolt on guitars. Their EQ also gives you a nice place in a band mix.

The JB is a cool pickup
    Gravity...its just a theory

the JB is awesome. it has the drive and the tone. there is a reason why so many people use it as a benchmark for comparison.
