    Default Unexpected NGD

    Hey guys.

    Just thought I'd post up pics of a guitar I got on Saturday afternoon:

    (sorry about that last crappy picture)

    It's a Japanese Jackson DK2M with stock JB/Jazz.

    It needs a new set of strings and a bit of attention for the crackly jack socket but apart from that it's pretty much good to go.

    This is the 1st guitar I've had a JB in it where I've actually liked the sound. I'm still not sure what I'm doing about the pickups yet, thinking of changing the JB for a Screamin' Demon, but I'm in no rush to change them just yet either.

    Through my Quick Rod or ScLOne it's pretty much instant 80s I just need to try it with my G-Major as both of those amps are a bit dry on their own.

    Craig
    Gibson, PRS, Fender, Patrick Eggle, BC Rich, Gordon Smith, Jackson, Ibanez and Home-built Guitars.

    Splawn Quick Rod, Soldano SLO Clone, Marshall JCM800, Matamp + old Carlsbro amps, Zilla and Award Session speaker cabs.

    Mainly HomeBrew Electronics and G2D FX, plus a few other.

    I totally love the sweet cuppin cakes sock!

    And the guitar... If it wasn't a Jackson i'd bribe you with an amp to get it off you!

    Totally my thing visually but I just can't get on with Jackson necks.

    Now we need some stereo amp + NGD clips/Video.

    I'm open to offers!

    No video clips coming as I have no way of doing that. I could possibly do some audio though.

    As soon as I saw it next to your Avatar, I thought hair metal. I knew that SLO clone would rock. Looks great, man.

    Nice! Those are killer guitars! I've lusted after a white one just like that for years. The neck is my favorite thing about em.

    Congrats!

    Ditto! Ive never been a big maple board fan, but when these came out with the black binding and sharks, it tripped my trigger! Ive been really close to buying one, but just dont need it. I LOVE the white and black and the flame and am starting to dig the red too. Its a killer total package with the pickups and all and now I see em coming around pretty cheap.... Maybe in a few yrs I can snag one for a song.. like Brow did...

    Congrats man!!
    Believe me when I say that some of the most amazing music in history was made on equipment that's not as good as what you own right now.

    It was one of the sweetest production guitars made by Jackson in recent years. Cherish it, they won't be making any Japanese Jacksons for a good, good while...if they ever find another factory, that is.

    Cheers guys

    I think it'll be getting it's 1st outing with me tomorrow night at band practice. I've been using the SLO with my Firebird w/Super Distortion so far but think I'll swap for this Jackson and the Splawn for a night to see how it goes.

    I played one of those about a year ago. Pretty good for the $$, especially having real Duncans; a Demon or 59/C in the bridge would rip!

    24 frets + square heel is a deal breaker for me, though.
    For him who struck thy foreign string,
    I ween this heart hath ceased to care;
    Then why dost thou such feelings bring
    To my sad spirit - old Guitar?

    Even so, Guitar, thy magic tone
    Hath moved the tear and waked the sigh;
    Hath bid the ancient torrent moan
    Although its very source is dry.

    It's not very often I go that far up the neck so it won't affect me tbh

    Gave it another play earlier. Definitely going to take it to practice to see how it fairs against my BC Rich Gunslinger

    That's nice. Maple boards have always looked odd to me on Jacksons but with that body color, it looks good.
